Washington, D.C. (March 23, 2004). The National Federation of Croatian Americans (NFCA) will hold its 12th .Annual Assembly of Delegates in Washington, D.C. on May 21-May 22, 2004 at the Washington Court hotel, located at 525 New Jersey Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. The hotel is a short walk to Capitol Hill, the Library of Congress and Union Station.
The NFCA has obtained a preferred rate for its delegates and guests of $109 per night. Please call the Hotel at 202-628-2100 to make your reservations and tell them that you are with the National Federation of Croatian Americans. To be eligible for the special rate, you must make your reservations no later than April 21, 2004.
The NFCA is planning a special welcome reception for the delegates and their guests on Friday, May 21. There will be several meetings arranged with U.S. government officials for the same day. Details will be forthcoming in the next few weeks. The formal Assembly will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 22. This year’s Assembly will highlight our legislative activities including Croatia becoming a member of NATO. Delegates will further hear about the NFCA’s other activities related to business development projects to help Croatia’s economy. Our formal convention activities will conclude on Saturday, May 22 with a reception for delegates and guests at the Croatian Embassy on Embassy Row which will feature the superb cuisine of Chef Ivo Svircic.
You can be part of all these events as a delegate. The NFCA Executive Committee can appoint a number of at-large delegates who must be dues paying members of the NFCA. The NFCA encourages everyone who desires to be a delegate to submit a letter of interest to our national office as soon as possible.
