An overview of Croatias economy and the possibilities of investing into Croatia were presented at the seminar. The Croatian Chamber of Commerce, Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development, JBIC and the Yazaki Japanese company, which in 1999 opened a research and development centre in Zagreb, also took part in the seminar.
The seminar was opened by the Croatian Ambassador in Japan, Drago Stambuk. The present were addressed by Kozo Yamamoto, Japanese deputy economy, trade and industry minister.
A Memorandum on Understanding and Cooperation between the Japanese Institute for Overseas Investment and the Agency for the Promotion of Exports and Investments was signed, as well as a Memorandum on Understanding between the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Japanese Bank for International Cooperation.
