Little Fish Theatre (LFT) in San Pedro is kicking off its 2011 Mid-Week Series with the comedy MY WIFE’S HUSBAND by Croatian playwright Miro Gavran, directed Don Schlossman. A favorite in Croatia, LFT will be presenting the US Premiere of the English translation of the play. This production features Croatian actress Iva Hasperger (left).
Eight perfect days for Croatians in Perth Australia
The Consulate of the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian Community of Western Australia are coordinating the participation of Croatia at this year’s fair Perth Royal Show . The goal is to showcase Croatia’s tourism and commerce as well as the trade and commerce of the Croatian community. The Elie Eaton pavilion the size of 1000 m2 was assigned to Croatia by the organizers. Hrvoje Petrušić, the consul general of the Republic of Croatia in Perth, wrote the article.
Sensational Croatian electric car launched at the Geneva Motor Show 2010
Dok-Ing is the Croatian producer of high-tech robots, primarily for the US military. It has recently launched an attractive electric mini-car with vertical-opening doors. It can achieve 130km/h, acceleration of 0-100km/h in 7.7s. After 8 hours connected to a 220V network it gets a full charge of its lithium-phosphate, and can travel up to 250km without having to plug it. Davor Suker (left) will be holding a “Mini Clinic for Charity” on Saturday, May 15th 2010 at the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) campus in Old Westbury, Long Island from 10am-1pm. The clinic will be for children between the ages of 9-14 and all proceeds will benefit the CACF and its ongoing battle for removing mines in Croatia.

The Greenwich Trio comprised of Stjepan Hauser from Croatia, Lana Trotovsek from Slovenia (both pictured left) and Yoko Misumi from Japan won at the Beethoven Chamber Music Competition 2010 held on April 22, 2010 at Steinway Hall in London and sponsored by the Beethoven Piano Society of Europe.
Armenian bishop Nareg Alemezian in Dubrovnik Celebrating the Day of St. Vlaho
A special bond between Croatia and Armenia is the cult of the saint Sv. Vlaho (St. Blaise) from Armenian Sebaste, patron of the city of Dubrovnik. Armenian bishop Nareg Alemezian on the left visited the City and participated in the annual festivity, 1038th in order! The author of the first history of Armenian people published in Europe was Croatian – Josip Marinović, in 18th century.
Branko Katalinic Croatian scientist directing DAAAM in Vienna for 20 years
Branko Katalinić, professor of robotics at the Technical University in Vienna, Austria, has founded a prestigeous international association DAAAM in 1990. In 2009 the 20th annual conference of DAAAM has been organized in Vienna. Among the past conferences, four of them have been organized in Croatia: in Dubrovnik, twice in Opatija and in Zadar. The DAAAM comprises more than fifty member states and hundreds of international organizations.

LADO Croatia’s Acclaimed Folk Dance Ensemble to Perform in North America
LADO’s fall tour of the U.S. and Canada is the climax of the 60th anniversary celebration of the founding of the ensemble. Eleven performances are scheduled in eight cities, full-production concerts and choral concerts combined. The mission of LADO goes well beyond performing dances that have been central to Croatian culture for generations.

U2 conquered Zagreb Croatia
Unprecedented and original spectacle in Maksimir stadium was thrown by Bono Vox and his good Irish lads of U2. Over 60,000 people sang along with the band for over two hours. Oh beautiful, oh precious, oh sweet liberty – Bono Vox quoted 17th century Croatian author Ivan Gundulić as per Nenad Bach’s suggestion, to the delight of the sold-out stadium.

49th International Children's Festival in Sibenik Croatia June 20 – July 4 2009
49th International Children’s Festival in the city of Šibenik, Croatia, will take place in the period of June 20 – July 4 2009. It will host as many as 1100 participants from twenty countries which will offer a rich cultural program. The theatre tradition in Šibenik started 140 years ago, in 1870, when the theatre building was inaugurated. The city is famous for its Renaissance Cathedral of Sv. Jakov from 15-16th centuries, proteced by UNESCO.
