| In the final race of the day, the men’s quadruple sculls, Croatia took an early lead. It could not be sustained however and the Italians were soon out in front. Behind them, a battle for third place was taking place between Australia, Russia and Germany. Crossing the line first, by a canvas, was Croatia, Italy just behind in silver then Australia next with the bronze. “It’s so crazy. I’m so happy and I don’t know what to say. It’s our first gold medal at this level and it’s the best feeling ever. The conditions were very bad, but we pulled it through,” said Valent Sinkovic from Croatia. Croatia’s men’s quad showed their ever-increasing talent as their finishing time got remarkably close to a World Best Time. Source www.wrch2010.com
